Saved by the Open Source–Android runs successfully on HP Touchpad

The HP TouchPad fire sale (of which I missed out) spelled the end of the Portuguese of the IT Mobile market (Palm). That said, it also light the route to competing with the with the vault iPad…Price/Value. Problem I struggled with buying a the deeply discounted TouchPad from HP, a company has apparently folded is support. Enter the Open Source community. The banner was picked up among Android Developers to port (convert) Android over to the HP TouchPad hardware. After all, the TouchPad ran WebOS, which is a flavor of Linux so alll thing consider, it should be relatively easy. Success!!! A developer group tagged as Team TouchDroid looks to have conquered the challenge. They have published a video of a HP TouchPad running a flavor of Android (GingerBread) and most importantly, the touchscreen was functional. see the video. via Ubergizmo
